Wisdom doesn't come from a tooth

So I'm toatally kicking myself right now. One, because I didn't listen to my mother when I was 18, and get my wisdom teeth out, letting her pick up the tab :) And two, because I didn't listen to my dentist and get my teeth removed 2 years ago when he said they were full of cavities. So five nights ago, when we were eating dinner, I discovered that a big chunk of one of my bottom wisdom's was actually missing. Now I was being stabbed in the tongue by the remainder of my disgusting, rotting tooth. (Justin's horrified response when he saw the damage? "Oh my gosh Kati, do you ever brush your teeth?") fortunately fo me, the kids had a dentist appointment the next morning with their pediatric dentist for a check-up and I mentioned to him what had happened. Luckily, Dr. Kurt, being an old friend of mine, was nice enough to give me a complimentary temporary "fill" to get me through the next week or so. So there I sat, mouth wide open in the reclined kids chair, watching "Ice Age 2" on the ceiling while Christian played video games in the next room, Shelbi cried and squirmed in the arms of the secretary, and Dylan played "assistant" with the Dr, handing him the appropriate tools. I can only imagine what the other moms must have been thinking. Only slightly humiliating... So now I'm going in on Tuesday, to a grown-up oral surgeon :), to get these lovely rotting teeth removed from my mouth. Note to self: All 3 kids must heed my instruction at all times or suffer the consequences; especially when it involves an oral extraction.

Kati! Mounth issues are a total bummer! I know, I have to get my teeth implants soon! Just think you could be wearing dentures! (Like your sis-in-law:)

Kati, you are so gross! Why is it that our children never listen to their mother until it's too late? Maybe you could pass this piece of advise on to your little cousin!
Yep...this one's gonna cost a pretty penny. Good luck!
Love you,
Aunt Suzanne
