You know what they say...It's not what you know, it's who you know. And we know the right people apparently! One of our homeschooling friends, Jamie, was able to get us a private tour of the fire station here in town that's located on the airport grounds...that's federal property! I guess it helps when you sleep with the boss ;) (Her hubby is one of only 2 fire fighters on shift at this 'exclusive' station). We got the grand tour and were able to see stuff you just don't see everyday. Like a fire truck that shoots massive amounts of water straight from it's nose! Yeah, the little boys were mesmerized. And we learned that the runway at our airport is so long, we are actually permitted to land space shuttles here. (At least we are now famous for something more than Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. Although few people in town are hardly aware of this tidbit. Most people like country music more than NASA I suppose...) We had a big group too, as most of our schooled friends were out, being it the day before Thanksgiving. What a great little trip. And a special thanks to John for his fun, educational tour of the facility... and for his enormous amount of patience!!

That is so cool! If you ever want to tour a clinical thearpy office, I bet I could hook you guys up! I bet if I even cook the boss dinner, he'll even let you sit on his couch! I am sure the kids would love that!Poor Joey and Jett, Dad's jobs won't be quite as exciting to visit!
Great blog Kati! Love it!
