Among Other Things...

Yes, now we have all the more reason to want to pack up and head to the hills... Dad may be on to something, even if we don't enjoy this piece of God's handy work on a bike. The foothills are awesome! We spent so much time out there as teenagers... motorcycle riding with friends, packed in the trucks 4-wheeling in the rain, and of course flying kites on Hanglider Hill. I can't believe that a little 25 minute drive across town has kept us away for so long! But, now that Clint and Mel are literally right across the street, we got to spend a great almost-spring evening back at our old stomping grounds...and boy did the kids love it!! Jus and I were laughing as we headed up the hills, just like old times... Except now, instead of Clint and Mel or Jas and Jenn packed in our (not quite) off-road vehicle, we had 3 little groms bouncing in their car seats along the rocky terrain, laughing all the way. Especially Dylan, smiling from ear to ear telling us, "Go faster Daddy!", with Christian chiming in like his mother, "But don't tip the car over!". So much fun...I would have never thought 6 months ago that this would have been our hearts' desire...to return to the east side and live at the hills, leaving behind our "dream house" in the great northwest. What started out as a financial decision has slowly become so much more...crazy how God's timing comes together! Yes, we did have a great evening flying kites and enjoying the serene calmness of the hills. But of course, if you're a 6 year old little girl named Sophie, kites and dirt aren't nearly as much fun as what only nature itself can offer...

How fun!! Jacob & I have always said that if we had to live in town, it would definitely be in the Northeast.....there's something so quiet and nostalgic feeling about it. I really miss it sometimes! I guess I'll just have to come visit you instead! :)

it's amazing how once the decision is made it's easy to be at peace... i think it puts the uneasyness behind you...
