Seriously Considering L.A. (Lego-holics Anonymous)

These are only a few of his
pieces...Christian's pride and joy!
Christian is in serious need of a program...we have an addiction on our hands. Fortunately we
don't have the resources to fund this addiction all too often, because it could become a very serious problem... He absolutely LOVES Legos.
For his 7th birthday Christian got about 5 different Legos sets and was in hog heaven. Yeah, it was pretty nice for me too, because he was totally entertained...for about
4 whole days. It's an obsession. The first set, about 300-350 pieces maybe, he had finished within hours. The second set was a bit more involved. It was huge box containing almost 1,000 pieces (quoting Heather, "some no bigger than an eyelash!") that came with not one, but two instructional booklets. Each book had about 75 pages of diagrams. I have absolutely no idea where he gets the patience for this...definitely not from his mother or father!! So he started this project at about 7:30 in the morning and literally did not quit nearly the entire day. I made him stop to eat, do a small amount of school work, and for about one hour when the neighbor boy came over to play. And good greif was he not happy about this! But geez, the boy is 7!! I was afraid his brain might start to smoke or something... So, finally, at 10:00-ish (he couldn't go to bed with an unfinished project) he finally snapped the last few pieces into place... Beaming with the pride only a skilled lego-er can relate to, we gently placed the creation on top of his display shelf. Not bad for a piece that was labeled "9-14 yrs old". I don't know what made him happier, the fact that he'd finished the model, or that he still had 3 more boxes waiting for him the next day!

OOOhkay, next question, is what doesn't he have, since Santa is just around the corner. I know, I know, Disneyland is our "big" present, but he's gotta have at least one Lego from grammi and papa. (I'm sure I recognize several of those in the picture.)
He's going to be building high-rise buildings in a few years.
