Shelbi doesn't know she's a girl. Only because she has two older brothers that she idolizes, and mimicks everything they do these days. The other day, as I was making breakfast for the gang, I hear Christian whisper, "Mom! Look over here...it's sooo cute!". As I turned around I saw miss Shelbs, flying her lego "ship" that her brother had made her, all over the living room making the perfect space ship sound effects. "Pshhfffttshh!" was all I could hear as she proudly paraded her donated creation around the room. Adorable.
She's also become very amused with other people's hats. It doesn't matter what kind it is, or who it belongs to, if it's within reach it's fair game. Of course we don't have many girl themed head coverings around here yet, but that doesn't matter to her one bit. So today when Jus said, "Babe! look at this..." I couldn't help but laugh out loud... Shelbi had found the boys' knight's helmet and had it on, backwards, covering nearly her entire face. The only thing visible was a little pink binky under the "metal" covering atop her entire head. But she didn't stop there...she had applied the entire coat of armor by herself. Of course, she had both arm guards hanging from the same arm, and the shield and sword in her other hand were almost as big as her entire little body... but she get's an "A" for effort. I know I didn't wait all these years for a little girl to get this...!
So the other day I was detailing the entire first scene to Mel over the phone, and as it turns out, the same scene was unfolding at the Stevenson place. Only in reverse... Ezra has two big sisters...you can guess where this is going. As miss Shelbs was busy playing Star Wars with her brother, little Ezra was enjoying his morning playing dress-up...princesses...with the girls. Snow White to be exact. Hmmm... maybe there are worse things than having two big brothers... :)
