Now, I'm still perfecting this mission of mine, don't get me wrong. I'm easily distracted and easily pursuaded. Christian loves baseball and if we start the city league in the fall my good intentions may be swept out from under me for awhile. Not to mention, Awanas will be starting soon, and Wednesday night church is important and enjoyed in our family so there's strike two. But I refuse to give in to the guilt monster when we don't make it every single week! Jesus knows that it's not a wavering of my faith, just the need to spend a little time at home reconnecting with my family-- trying desperately to maintain that doggone balance in my life...!

Balancing Act
I'm on a mission. Actually, it's been my mission for awhile now. It's what motivated me to pursue homeschooling and it's what I find myself reminding friends of constantly, even when I don't heed my own advice: life's about balance. My natural tendency is just not balance. I'm either over-co
mmitting, over-analyzing, over-extending... or over-ea
ting! (Who can resist a good brownie sundae?) So Ive had to almost force myself to remember that everyone is happier when we prioritize our time and committments to truly enjoy our daily lives... not just survive them! That means that we don't make it to every church function, participate in every sports league, or cover every chapter in the text book (not that I like, or use, textbooks anyway!). But we do find time to ride our bikes to the park, play board games, do science experiments that aren't from the book, and lounge in our pajamas on a rainy Thursday morning.
Now, I'm still perfecting this mission of mine, don't get me wrong. I'm easily distracted and easily pursuaded.
